Is it really free?

Yes. Unlimited conversions, no trial period, no paid tier, no upsell inside the panel. The extension has no servers to pay for, so there is nothing to charge for.

Where does the content of my pages go?

Nowhere. The conversion runs inside your browser and the result stays in your browser — clipboard, downloads folder, or the local history. There is no backend to receive it and no analytics to report on it.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-in, no email field and no user identity of any kind.

Why does it ask for these permissions?

activeTab and tabs to read the page you asked to convert and to list the tabs of the current window for batch mode; downloads to save the .md or .zip; storage for your settings and local history; sidePanel because the entire interface is a side panel; clipboardWrite to copy the result. Access to all sites is optional and requested only when you switch to an image mode that has to fetch pictures.

Does it work offline?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Converting a page that is already open needs no network. Only fetching remote images and opening an AI chat require a connection.

What happens to images?

Three options. Keep the original links (default, nothing is downloaded), download every image into a .zip next to the Markdown, or inline them as base64 so the file is self-contained. The last two need permission to fetch images across sites, which is requested the moment you pick that mode.

How does batch conversion work?

It lists the tabs in your current window, you tick the ones you want, and you get either one merged Markdown file or a zip with one file per page. It never touches tabs in other windows.

Does it handle math and LaTeX?

Yes — KaTeX, MathJax and MathML are all recognised and written back as $…$ for inline formulas and $$…$$ for display formulas.

Which browsers does it support?

Chrome and other Chromium browsers that support Manifest V3 side panels, such as Edge, Brave and Arc — install from the Chrome Web Store in any of them. Separate Edge Add-ons and Firefox listings are not published yet.

What languages is the interface available in?

66. The panel follows your browser language by default, and you can pin a specific one in Settings. The privacy policy is kept in English only, on purpose — it is a legal text and a translation of it would not be the binding version.

How does the Obsidian export work?

It hands the note to the Obsidian app through its own URL scheme, so the file lands in the vault you choose. Obsidian must be installed on the same machine.

Does the extension use AI?

Accepted Answer

No. There is no model, no API key and no AI call anywhere in it. The Send to AI button copies your Markdown and opens the chat site you picked — the conversation happens in your own account, in your own tab.
